Here’s my new strat.
The body is quilted maple over roasted alder.
The neck is a Fender channel bound Stratocaster neck.
The pickups are Lindy Fralin (SP42s in the neck and middle, Split Steel Pole at the bridge).
With the exception of the bridge (which I purchased from Warmoth), all of the hardware is Fender.

Looking good! How do those Fralin SPs sound? Pretty close to a p90? Or different?

The SP 42s are roughly half way between a traditional strat tone and a P90. The Split Steel Pole (bridge) pickup is very much like a P90.

That is an absolutely stunning strat. The top is so great and the bright binding on the neck actually works and looks incredible. Very well designed there my friend.  :kewlpics: :yourock:

Also, good choice with the Fralin's - I chose their Pure PAFs for the mooncaster I just finished and they are by far the best pickups I have ever played. They have so much more power and presence and they distort very musically. Even the lowest output that they make. I bet those sound real nice. I like p90s a lot, and I enjoy singles that are a bit thicker than normal like noiseless ones.

Very nice work, I bet it plays like a dream.  :eek:ccasion14: :headbanging:  :bananaguitar:

Very nice choices.  When I see a QMT amber strat it always reminds me of Mark Knopflers pensa suhr.  I like your version with hardtail and top routed body.

I had a similar one with regular un-heated Alder with QMT that was finished in transparent Amber, but it was not as good looking as this.

Thanks it does play (and sounds) great.

The neck actually doesn’t have binding. It’s a “channel bound” neck-the rosewood fingerboard is inlayed in the maple neck.
