I on the other hand won't be able to do that, since the pickguards on 7/8 bodies differ from pickguards on fullsize models.

No, my roots are more from classic hard rock. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and that 70's stuff. So it will probably be a hard rock tele I guess.
But on the other hand - I'm still exploring and finding new exciting music.
