MT-2 Metal Zone Mod?

I have an old MT-2 Metalzone that I used to love when I was beginning to play guitar. It delivered the noise that I wanted through an old peavey transtube studio 112. I was a HERO! Anyway after a while, I fell out of love with this pedal so it went in a box and lived there with my broken adaptors and chords and other junk that I just didn't throw away. Then I heard a MT-2 that had a mod done to it and it ROCKED. It seems like the perfect project! So I turned to google and in true google style I got 400 billion returns on my search (and it only took .0000000012 of a second), or something ridiculous like that. So, my questions is this: Has anyone done a MT-2 Metalzone to make it AWESOME that they would like to suggest?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but a friend of mine installed his under the pickguard...Ninja style stealth mode metal!

This page, couple of different versions available, do it yourself kits at a good price.

I have his SD-1 808 kit with the Dual Gain & Symmetrical/Asymmetrical clipping upgrades, and it works well, sounds great. His instructions are easy and top notch.  :icon_thumright:

AnalogMan, Keeley and Monte Allum are the most popular mods. Read, listen and decide. MT-2 sounds sooooo bad stock I'm sure you 'll make it "better" with any mod.

I bought my MT2 over 10 years ago and I'm still in love with it, It doesn't sound bad it just needs careful thoughtful tweaking.  I still get friggen wicked sounds out of it.

My advice.  Put it infront of a tube amps clean channel. and add one of these after it in the chain.

Or of course.. a similar model by somebody else.

You can find a lot of mods for it at the BYOC forum as well.  They might not say what others have done to them directly, but they will give you key words to search with.
