More Bridge options for Mustangs?

OK I'm not a fan of Mustangs but the main contention is the trem system and bridge.

If ther were more options avialble for this body shape, people like me might be tempted.......

You already ahve programming available for brdiges like the T-O-M and stop tailpiece studs, the Schaller 463, the 6 hole Strat bridge (trem) ,Gotoh/Wilkinson trem and the hardtail Strat.

Instead of leaving it up to customers to specially order the Mustang body without a bridge rout...could you not offer some options at the brdige and gain some extra patronage? I can't finish my own bodies or necks, so to get a  body unfinished is not an option for me to drill/rout into. And to start doing major drilling or routing into a fully finished body is kinda fraught with danger...... :help:

It's particularly frustrating when you consider that Fender did have a hardtail version of the Mustang years ago called the Duo Sonic, it basically had a Strat hardtail bridge but with Tele styled (3 saddles for 6 strings) saddles.

Where the bridge has to sit on the Mustang a Strat trem might not be the good choice. The trem arm would sit way forward. This is also an issue with arming a Jazzmaster or Jaguar body with a Strat trem or a modern derivative like the Wilkinson.

Remember that a Mustang is 1/4" thinner which will be an issue with a trem rout.

Just buy a Strat. The Mustang was meant to be a cheap student guitar, not some tricked out ultra-versatile arena rocker with a full complement of expensive high-end options.

Good point, but some folks like the shorter scale of a Mustang...... the closest you'll get to that on a Strat is the 24 3/4" conversion neck.

Exactly.  I want a 24" scale with strat trem.  But I only want to pay $157 for the alder body haha.

I would love a duo sonic myself. Great little stupid simple guitars. two pickups, fixed bridge, and small enough to play in bed when you have the flu or to throw in the car when your on a trip.

The mustang 24" neck will fit on the 7/8 size strat/tele body. There you go...
