Well I had to redo my meadowhawk neck finish after a mishap, so while I was figuring out the amount of blue dye to use I practiced on a piece of birdseye maple. Very light tint and thought it looked really cool. Obviously a little splotchy, but that was just one light coat. I like the subtle color look on the Birdseye, maybe a future build idea……😁IMG_0482.jpeg

It is difficult to make figured veneer/ wood look bad. It is the low hanging fruit of the partscaster. IMO
Oh I wouldn’t say that. I’ve seen some very nice figured wood messed up from bad finishes. Bad prep, bad dye job, bad burst, bad clear coat…….

It’s fun trying different methods. I usually use Keda dye, but the tinted nitro is a pretty cool look if you use a spray gun. It’s especially good for doing Heritage Cherry on Mahogany, another one on my list. Also Playing around with spraying a burst as well with a very narrow pattern and low pressure.
