Mispositioned frets? (PICTURES!!!)

I suspect it was the 24 fret neck that threw him for a loop.
I'd say that was almost sure... Even our illustrious Warmoth seemed to have "issues" for a bit when they started up the seven-string path. Not mis-positioned, but there were at least a few with too-high 22nd, 23rd or 24th frets. They sell so few of them relatively that they probably haven't reprogrammed the Fret-o-Tron* to deal with 24 frets on a 25" scale. So when Barney the Fret Guy gets it, he's trying to match the last few frets to what the Magic-Frets* machine did, which you can't because the Fret-o-Rama Mama* is always perfect.

Good choice not settling on a flawed custom guitar.

Btw, have you looked at Carvin's neck through guitars? I've seem some awesome ones with great custom features like stainless, 24 frets for only around $800.

Yes I have, but I live in Sweden and I have got the idea they have some shitty extra costs for european orders.
Also I am not totally sure I like their designs, but the "up-side-down" V is really cool! But only $800? That sounds a bit unlikely.
Also... Their page seems to be NOT willing to tell prices of their guitars. I cannot see a signle price on anything, it's like a big secret. I cannot see what the guitars I've "built" with the online builder cost either: I have gone through it a few times and I never see a price. It's really frustrating!!!

I agree, the frets look positioned incorrectly and it's very obvious.  I would bring it to the attention of this builder that you're not paying for what would really serve no purpose other than to fuel a fire during the winter.  Maybe this was just an honest mistake on the builder; we're all human after all and we all make mistakes.  I'd give him the opportunity to make it right before taking any other course of action.

If things don't work out, I'll just say I don't read many posts about people having problems with their Warmoth necks and/or bodies, but when they do, Warmoth WILL take care of it.  I know this first-hand as I had a defective body that had developed two hairline fractures.  Two years after the purchase they'd replaced the body.  For two years I was a very unhappy customer.  Now, I'm a very happy customer.  The folks at Warmoth do care if their customers are happy.  :occasion14:

The builder seems to require a software, maybe one that you need to update on your computer. Though it works fine for me. The neck through I saw has since been sold, but was in their 'showcase'.
