Meanwhile, at Warmoth....the Mooncaster SSB body is unleashed!!

ghotiphry....I saw that Pau Ferro 30" scale neck in the daily sold report a few days ago, and wondered who was buying a short scale neck but no body.  :icon_thumright:

And yes, yours is the first sold.  :yourock:

Ya, that was me.  Pau Ferro is my bag, baby.  Just had to puzzle about the body a bit.

I get a plaque or something?  A certificate?  Serial number 000001 penciled in neck pocket?  (Kidding.  I'll settle for a crisp high five.)

There may be an internal bet about how many will sell the first week... and you may have put me halfway to winning the 5lb box of cheezits which is on the line. I will share 2 1/2 pounds with you.  :icon_thumright:

I'll take it!  Actually, Aaron, my request is to have you hand draw the Warmoth turtle in the neck pocket.  I don't care how bad your drawing skills are.

LOL. The turtle is already branded in there, but if you really want, I'm sure we can come up with some "special hand-drawn modifications".  :evil4:

Heh, not sure I like the devil horns, but if you stick to the neck pocket (***ahem***) then go for it!

Nice choice and the mockup looks right. Good move, ghotiphry.

Devil's horns... Lessee, what would AA do?  :turtle:

'Tis a fine thing you have purchased, Mr. Fishfry, for which proper recognition is in order. You are hereby awarded the much-coveted:

For Outstanding Audacity in the Face of Budgetary Restraint

May you thoroughly enjoy the next couple months of Ramen noodles at every meal as you contemplate the joy this instrument will bring you.

Not in the last 10 years or so. I just found the graphic the other day while digging through some old backups looking for something else. Some guy in Thailand drew it for me, I don't remember why. Used to use it on a Tech forum I spent an inordinate amount of time on that has since been shut down. No real criteria to the thing, I just whimsically awarded it more based on calling attention to the unusual, positive or negative, rather than meeting any particular goal.

Aaron, I have another question for you.  Can you tell me how the demo bass you played was wired?  Specifically the pot resistances and tone capacitor values?  Because it just sounds great.

He lives in Washington. There is no pot resistance, at least for recreational purposes. Makes a difference in how things sound.

Sorry, man.  If it's too much don't sweat it.

I just saw my first couple dozen pot stores the other day. Went down deepinahearta Detroit to the Mexican village for breakfast. Hadn't been in that area in many years, but it's like you describe. It appears that now there are more pot stores than beer/wine stores and check cashing joints, and it's not even legal here except for "medical" purposes. Of course, if you can't get a prescription for pot, you're probably speaking Swahili and confusing the doctor. Don't know why the better neighborhoods don't have them. Maybe not enough check cashing outlets?
