Luminlay Side Dots

I'm considering retrofitting some Luminlay side dots on an existing Warmoth neck(s), but I'm not sure what diameter dots I should order.
  1. Does anyone know what size the standard side dots are on a Warmoth neck?
  2. Is it advisable to install the same size as that or is it recommended to size up?

The side dots on my Warmoth neck are about 2mm. I eyeballed with calipers and also compared to some 2mm side dot stock I have. I would upsize just so my new hole could be a few microscopes off center and still cover the current dot. It looks like the luminlay side dots min size is 2.5mm so you have to up size.

Sorry, I was looking at the black piped side dots that were min 2.5mm. They do go down to 1.5mm. If it were me, I would up size.

Just to report back...

I decided to try to do 2mm first and would size up if it didn't look right. I've never replaced side dots before but it was pretty easy and 2mm worked great. I think these will help a ton and I'll likely do a few more of my guitars to match.

The finished job:

I went with the "blue" dots which do have a slight blue color to them, but aren't drastically blue.
