luthier did so-so job and it's kinda buzzing, need to install pickups, but warmoth doesn't seem to supply pickup height screws with their rings, sucks, have to wait till sunday till i can hook this baby up

Pretty. I notice you're using the "lower" pickups rings in both positions, is that gonna work?

Very nice body. Looks like this will be great when you're done.
+1 the lack of raised pup ring. I think those are actually the metal ring 'covers', if I'm not mistaken. Why don't your pickups have the screws provided? That's normally where you get the height adjustment screws, not the rings.
Master tone control?
Also let us know how the earvana works out for you, please.

i dunno
i just ordered metal rings from the store, i'd thought they came in the normal rings position
you think i should replace them ?
cream rings might fit better than gold i think.
i'll post clips on sunday night or monday morning :O

Yes, they work great. This is what I use.

Are those the type of rings you can sit on top of the plastic ones? That can be a cool look sometimes.

I think the gold works here - but I like having tall curved ring for the bridge pickup - keeps all the "guts" covered up nicely.

Wow, what a beautiful top on that Paul. Looks perfectly symetrical, even in the coloring. That's a rare find to get a bookmatched top that the coloration come out the same on each side.

I noticed to the neck doesn't apear to have a finish, what is it made of? :icon_scratch:

made out of wood  :glasses9:

it's unfinished maple/ebony
i wanted to go with mahogany but i tend to dislike finished necks, all my necks on all my guitars are maple almost and unfinished.

Firstly, beautiful guitar body  -that guitar will be a head spinner. :icon_thumright:

Secondly, you are aware that it is recommended by Warmoth to put a hard finish on a maple neck?

See the bottom of this linked Warmoth page for the details...As long as you are aware and happy with the situation.

we use 220v ;]
and i know warmoth recommends a hard finish, i just don't like finished necks :\
my fender has a satin finish and it's still annoying for me to play after i play guitars with unfinished necks

Bad choice getting maple, IMO.... It will get green, weird... I was talking (semi) serious on the other post...
A friend burned the finish of a Gibby Nighthawk and didn't finish back, it start to get green, brown color on the maple top...

ThinkGeek... Where I got my current record player from.

Great looking guitar! The top is awesome, and the gold/cream works really well.
