Locking Washers alternative?

Hi guys,

I was recently thinking of an alternative to the traditional metal locking washer and came up with the unconventional idea to use a silicone ring instead. I imagined that silicone might have a better grip on the surfaces - Metal / Silicone / Wood instead of Metal / Metal / Wood - when tightened & the compression would act as spring holding parts even better in place.

Better grip due to sticky material surface, flexibility and compression ability. My only concern would maybe longevity? Not sure.

What do you think?

Is this to reduce the possibility of the switch becoming loose?

No harm in trying it, but consider using the silicone ring as an addition rather than instead of.
Another alternative would be to use something like Loctite threadlocker.

Yes that's what I thought. I should give it a try and see how it holds up, just wanted some input of what you guys think, maybe I'm just overthinking.

On my latest build I don't have added any kind of washer on the inside, it's holding still fine but I felt uncomfortable tightening the thing.
