I knew it, I knew it, it would take someones who mind was messed with by Gilligan to fire Sammy

I've always been torn on the VH vocalist bit. I've pretty much decided I like SH better, but I like the DLR material better, just without DLR.  And DLR w/o VH really uh shows of his personality

DLR has a style, but his personality totally overrides his talent
SH has both style and charisma, not only that but VH music was maturing so nicely during the VanHagar years. Seriously if you sit down, turn off the lights and listen to Balance, it is a killer disc musically, best they ever did. However the fans wanted always the teenage hormonal rage of the DLR era and the VanHagar stuff is swept under the rug.  I prefer SH, but I cannot discount the early VH as it is KickAss Rock and roll and has stood the test of time.  Like all Great bands that last several decades, controversy will come with every change made. Few bands can hold with the Stones touring past their 60s, Sammy is. And that shows talent and Appeal something I think we see all to rarely.

Don't have Balance or Fair Warning yet. This is stuff that I heard on the radio for decades and only recently decided to start buying, and VH was one I decided was a 'buy albums' rather than 'buy collections'.  (I hate buying collections if there is any chance I will eventually want most of an artists material.)  Bought 1984 just last week (mostly for Drop Dead Legs) and wow, for the most part was really disappointed. I think I paid 78 cents + shipping for that one.

Amsterdam & Feelin' are the only things decent on Balance.
Good Enough was the best Van Hagar track (either on compilation or twister soundtrack)
1984 definately had it's duds.  Hot For Teacher is still my favourite.

Evidently it's a tailpiece he designed called D2H(Drop to Hell), suppose to drop a drop E to a super drop A... :dontknow:

Debating VH is a touchy subject, so many strong opinions there, and the different bands were so different. I will leave my opinion like this, Eddie is a genius and innovator on guitar. I think he has always been on the forefront of the guitar music in whatever era it has been, however my favorite singer he has had is Sammy and I think the music is strongly influenced by the singer.
I do want to see what the next step in the VH saga will be, besides rumors and promises, what I mean is I want to see it happen, not talk about what is going to happen, I see Sammy has moved on.

Now about that bridge He is using, wow, looks good, but then that is Eddie always trying something new, his mind to find new stuff on a guitar is amazing.

I haven't looked today, but the official EVH or VH website has had a little flashing add claiming some new bridge " Comming Soon" thats been there for 2 years now and no bridge yet, maybe thats the protype, or pre release, or maybe its out, I'll go check now.

It probably is a prototype, cause I've looked and looked can't find anything about it other than Eddie himself talking about it. But he does have more than one, he has at least two. One on the stripped guitar and another on a cream colored one...

They just can't decide whether to charge the standard $25,000 for it, or boost it up a notch - all that strenuous development and research oughta be worth another 10 grand, right?
