Linseed oil and water-based dye and tru oil?

I am just about finishing with the color dye on a mahogany/maple top warmoth body. The dye is water based so I just wonder if I let it dry for a day or two will I able to apply linseed oil on it without the dye being messed up?

After about a couple of linseed oil layers I plan to put hell a lots of tru oil layers on top and polish the last to get it thick and glossy. My friend said tru oil is actually linseed oil mixed with some other stuffs so it should be able to work just fine with normal linseed oil. Is it true?

I've never used pure linseed oil but why use that instead of going straight to the Tru-oil? Re: the waiting time, I used Transtint dyes and dried it with a hairdryer (making sure to not get the wood too hot) and immediately put on Tru-Oil and it came out perfectly on my most recent build.

I know our finish guru Tonar does a special boiled linseed oil treatment to necks (non-warranty-compliant, but highly reputable for "feel" according to those who have given opinions on this board) - but that's not an application over color, so probably not relevant here except as a response to "why not just use Tru-Oil?"
