Anyone know what the material is that Ernie Ball uses for their body binding in liquid form?

I'm looking at a lap steel build, and would consider back filling with the same material, then sanding flush.

No idea but I have seen the video where it is shown. No doubt Dudley Gimpel, knows but I doubt it is widely publicized. Some Musicman patents are credited to Dudley, but I have not seen one for liquid binding.

Probably a mix of binding and acetone could be made to work in the small workshop.

Maybe the same stuff that Rickenbacker uses for inlays?  Those are also poured in as a liquid...

From what I have been able to find by a search based on Rickenbacker apparently, they use some form of polyester resin.

Not liquid binding. But darn cool!

Clamp some forms down the neck, you’d get colored epoxy fret lines. Wonder if tape would do it?

I think some body bindings are epoxy, and they're done before the body is milled out. Could still work if you're glazing the fingerboard like a fretless bass.
