Let the Waiting Begin...

The only reason I ask is that I'm over in the United States for 2 weeks in April and would like them delivering to my vacation address so I can take them home in my suitcase, thus avoiding high shipping and import tax costs.

I'm just wondering if that is likely to happen given that they are currently in paint?

What else is there to do once they are painted?

Been waiting since the end of November for my replacement.  The body was cracked and Warmoth offered to replace it.  I agreed to send them the body (electronics still intact) on the grounds I'd get the body back in the same condition; wired up and ready to go, just as they received it (I'm clueless as to how to wire a guitar).  They agreed to get the new body back to me in the same condition as the one I sent to them.

Anyway, still waiting.  I'm starting to lose my patience.  I appreciate them making this right, but damn, 4 months?  Really?  As far as I'm concerned, they offered to replace the body.  I'd already done my waiting for 2 months.  IMO, my guitar should have been a priority, not thrown into a 2 month "waiting list," given they offered to make this right.

I understand it takes time to paint bodies and route them, etc, but c'mon.  I spoke with them on Thursday and they said they'd be sending it either Friday or yesterday.  I certainly hope so, because this is getting ridiculous...

Warmoth needs to revise the timetable they send you in the e-mail order confirmation. It said 4-5 weeks for a showcase item getting paint, and it's been 5 weeks already. I sent them an e-mail, and they told me 8-10 weeks is typical. I'm fine with waiting to have a quality jon done, but it's hard not to get impatient when you're expecting five weeks at the longest, only to find out you've got another 5 weeks of waiting ahead of you.

On the bright side, my custom neck is done already!  :rock-on:

Agreed, but they told me via email ahead of time that it'd be 10-12 wks, so I knew it wouldnt be the 4-5 they listed. However, you make a good point, for those who don't interact with Warmoth a good bit before their purchases.

I believe it used to be listed on their website (I could be mistaken) that you could count on an average waiting time of about 2 months...

Woo-hoo - I have a UPS tracking number for my $700 neck which is now on it's way to some guy called 'Cagey' who I've never met, for him to set up and fettle, and then post to me at my vacation address in a couple of weeks.

Internet trust is a wonderful thing!  :binkybaby:

Body will get sent sepparately and directly to the vacation address so I can bring them back together in my suitcase.

Just to think, Cagey will get to run his sweaty fingers up and down my bare shaft before me!

nice!
