Lead time

Just wondering, if someone wanted to order a custom neck, nothing too crazy, for Christmas, how soon would the order need to be placed?

The sooner the better so you have plenty of time. It can take 5-6 weeks as the holidays approach.

Thanks.  I'm thinking of a roasted Maple tele neck, with either turquoise or Azurite Malachite dots.  I'll probably end up ordering something in stock though.

If I decide on turquoise, I'll do a custom order. Most likely I'll end up ordering an I stock tele neck without the fancy dots. The extra $20 is no big deal, the extra 4 weeks is.

I've gotten lucky before and got my all Bubinga neck in 4 weeks when ordered one November but that is not an average, especially in the autumn leading up to Christmas. No finish necks usually arrive sooner than 5 weeks but you cannot always expect that.

I'll probably order this weekend.  Right now it's between a roasted maple that will need frets and nut installed, or a ready to go quartersawn maple with satin nitro.  The hard decision is it has regular 6150 frets, if I order the roasted I would get SS6115s.
