Just for the record, since these are gonna be hard to come by....

The Q filter once measured about 900mh to 1h, dc resistance unknown.

Later (last?) Q filters measure at 1.72h and run about 55ohms DC resistance.  I measured five of them tonight and the DC ohms were right at 55 on all of them.  The inductance varied only by .01h or so.  They are dual coil, so they're humbucking.  And they measure about 3/4 inch square and 1/2 inch or so deep.  They are not potted.  And are wound on a steel screw, which also holds the nut that serves to keep the little case all together.  Lead length is 4.5 inches.

any new info on bill and the future of wilde pickups?
do you know what gage the wire is? i can try to configure a lathe to wind em if i have enough info.
edit:
is there a trick to measuring inductance or do i just have the wrong multi meter?

Bill aparantly has some form of cancer, as he has just had chemotherepy.  He was not doing very well at all, but a recent report by his wife Becky said he is doing better.  With this type of thing, only time can tell, and Bill is not a youngster by any means.  Wilde pickups are being made and marketed by Lace which is probably a very good thing for both Wilde and Lace.

Hey CB, I've tried contacting them to buy one and had no luck whatsoever. Any chance you'd sell me one of your five, for my upcoming project?

is that why only his keystone pup's are available for purchase on the website? there are details on other pickups but only the keystone singles have the paypal billing option. well i hope the old man gets better, i need to ask him a lot of questions. we need more knowledgeable people like bill in the music industry not a bunch of snobs who describe things subjectively and preach it as dogma.

i tried finding a suitable sub but i can't find anything that small with that low dc resistance. the one inductor i found that was the right value and size had no price but i imagine it was expensive. i found another that was cheap, really cheap but you would need 2 or more in series and they are each slightly bigger than bills Q-filters so you need a big route and the dc resistance is still wrong.

some audio isolation transformers are about right though if you wire the coils together. find a dial up modem and rip off the transformer. but i wonder if a transformer would do something funky wired as a humbucker? :dontknow:
