Laminate top too light colored?

I'm just on the edge of building a strat style guitar, and I'm really stumped on what unique choice laminate top I should get. There's one quilted maple top I would like to get, but the figuring seems too light to be seen. What do you guys think? Too light, or is it beautiful? (The number is LT560)

Here's the other laminate top also looking at, but I'm not really happy about the line across the middle. I'm on the verge of choosing the first laminate top, anyone else want to chime in?

It will darken and become more prominent once sprayed. Those look dry to me. If they were wet it would look much better.
