I agree.  But it was something I did on a whim, and that was the only size vinyl tape that I had with me.  I originally tried amber shellac with dye mixed in, but couldn't get it to match the body.

Some pics I took during setup.  Took about 2 weeks to setup this bad boy!  Lot's of shimming here and there, some minor fret leveling, pounding high frets.  Sadly what started out looking like a brand new guitar off the rack now looks like one that's been on the road for a few years.  :icon_biggrin:  Nitro does not like to be "man-handled", and evidently I'm rough on guitars.  No pics of the back because at one point while I was pounding on some frets I thought it would be safe enough to lay it on cardboard.  Wrong!  The back looks like it was played while wearing a boxing championship belt. :laughing11:  Only wet sanding is getting that out and I'm not sure if the finish is thick enough for it.  But, this wasn't built to be a show piece, so I'm perfectly happy with it.  Will take some pics for the Start section after I've cleaned it up some.

Now the Humbucker shim I made from,,,,Redwood I think it was.

Now the rest
