Korina va alder

Korina is denser/heavier than Alder, so you may get a little more sustain.

Many consider Korina more attractive than Alder.

The Korina (top) has a much more pronounced grain than Alder

Korina is fairly open-grained wood so it's more difficult to finish than Alder.

Korina is more expensive than Alder, but not dramatically so. The two pictured above were only $25 apart.

they both have unique tonal qualities... i couldn't decide which sound i like better so i built one of each!

That's the ultimate, and some might say most practical/sensible solution, and you've done it well. Good for you!

Hey that's great work......

As those two pickguards are identical, & presumably interchangeable, have you considered doing a tone test to see if the woods in the guitar colour the pickups' response?  :icon_scratch: :dontknow:
