All you need to connect a head to a cab is a proper speaker cable. Apart from impedance and wattage questions, cabs will work with any head theoretically. That head and cabinet would work. Your head might be a bit under powered, but those little 5-watters sound killer when cranked.

Dont expect miracles for $150.  But... I bet it sings, as EL84's can do in their own way.  Might be a bit of a one trick pony, but doing that trick really well.

Haven't tried that one but will soon; looks very similar to the Epiphone Valve Jr. head with more features. Could make for a nice little practice/recording amp.

I demoed on of the Little Giants extensively a bit before Christmas.  It is a bit like a Valve Jr, but the tweakability factor on the Little Giant, and the fact that it doesn't fart out when cranked all the way (the VJ does) make it head and shoulders better than the Epiphone.  One thing to note, this amp doesn't do much with vintage wound single coils.  It lives off of P90's and PAF's though!  I played slide on a Les Paul Jr. for over an hour with this puppy and it just sang!  I wouldn't reccomend using it with super hot pickups though as they overloaded the preamp and turned the sound into midrange sludge (I used a Gibson LP Classic and Ibanez RG).

Overall, I was really impressed, especially with the modest price tag!  I could totally see myself gigging with one of these things as it got LOUD through my 2x12 (Celestion Blues). :icon_thumright:  Unmicced for smaller venues and add a '57 for bigger rooms, plus it gives me an excuse to build a P90 Thinline.  :icon_thumright:
