Keeping black hardware...black

Can anyone share best practices for staving off corrosion?  I have experience with a chrome TonePros TOM from a prior build.  It seemed like it only took a couple months for the saddles to start deteriorating lol.  I do not have caustic sweat!

Clean off any corrosion that might be on it then use some good black spray paint. ccasion14:
