I now have seven Warmoth strats and was feeling perfectly satisfied, with no ideas for a next build.  I really thought I was done.  Then I went to a live show for the first time in 15 years.  Brit Floyd came to Iowa and my wife insisted we go.  During some songs from Dark Side of the Moon the guitarist busted out a Storm Thorgerson designed Stratocaster and the seed was planted.  So last night I ordered the parts.  It'll be a black gloss strat with multi colored knobs and tuners.  It'll also have the black pickups and I'm going to have to paint the pickguard myself since I can't find a dark, dark gray pickguard.  After this one, I will hopefully be out of ideas until the next show I attend 15 years from now.

Here's a link to several Storm Thorgerson designed guitars:

Why is there a Roy Lichtenstein inspired picture on the back?

Well, I say Roy Lichtenstein, you know what I mean.

The Design on the front is great, I love the machine heads.

8 Strats is ok, but as we all know, 8 is not a prime number. Your next logical production pause would be at 11.

Looking forward to lotsa pics!

If anyone has any knowledge of a spray paint for plastic that matches the pickguard's color, let me know.  I haven't had any luck finding one yet.  I may have to mix some paints and rent a spray gun to get this done.

Some full-service paint supply shops can match colors if you give them a sample, then they can mix up a batch that they'll put in rattle cans for you. Or, you can just get the paint matched and use this sort of thing...

Those are from Preval, and run about $15 for a pair of sprayers. You can then buy additional compressed gas cylinders as you go along as needed.

Thanks for the tip Cagey.  I'm going to keep the guitar simple.  There's not going to be anything on the back or the prism with colors running down the fretboard.  This just served as an inspiration for a new color scheme.  I'm also going to have a HSS configuration.  I ordered a Bare Knuckles Rebel Yell set.  I've never tried BKPs before, so I'm looking forward to trying them out.

BTW,  the Brit Floyd show was great, but we had to leave early.  My daughter was bothered by the huge Ganja cloud that wafted up to the balcony.  She was also weirded out by the dude who puked in the aisle.  I think people really started smoking up during the 23 minute performance of "Echoes".
