I just received a Warmoth Strat Neck fatback maple 6100 stainless, and Warmoth Strat body. I wanted to put a Warmoth sticker on the headstock. I figured they would include one with a purchase but I seem to only have a bumper sticker. Do they not include a sticker with a neck purchase?

Gottcha, but it's going to be a nice looking guit and if they don't supply a 2 dollar sticker with a 700 dollar purchase that is their bad judgement as I refuse to pay extra to advertise. The parts are very high quality and I am happy, but how cheap is that? I will tell everyone I got it from Allparts or USAG.  :laughing11:

I got a free little vinyl sticker with both of my neck purchases. I didn't use them. Maybe they just accidentally forgot to drop one in your box, or maybe they don't do it anymore.  In my time on this forum (and I was a member of the original forum as well) I've seen maybe 4 or 5 completed guitars with the vinyl decal. If no one is really using them, it's silly to keep shipping them out for them to just be thrown away.  I always thought they looked kind of cheap.  If I just dropped a grand or more on custom parts I don't want to put a chintzy little sticker on the headstock.

I did buy a couple of the metal decals though.  I think they are classy.

Also, Warmoth isn't exactly hurting for business.  They ARE in the business of making Fender replacement parts.  Lots of people buy necks and slap 'em on Fender guitars and put a Fender decal on them.  I'm quite certain that they aren't going to go broke because you are mad you didn't get a silly 2 dollar sticker.  Allparts certainly isn't going to give you a sticker for free and USACG doesn't even have a decal.  They will, however, CNC their logo into the face of the peghead and fill it flush with epoxy, but it will cost you an extra Hamilton.  2 bucks for a turtle logo seems a bit more reasonable now, doesn't it? Or you could upgrade to one of the metal one for just a couple bucks more.  Or you could create a totally custom logo on waterslide paper yourself. That's what lots of folks around here have done.  It that one more little thing that will make your new guitar truly unique and your own.

Nothing against Warmoth, but I really don't want this:

In defense of the "cheap looking" sticker, it would look fine underneath the finish. As for Warmoth being cheap asses, I don't see it. If they were to toss one in the box, yeah, that would be nice, but those things don't print themselves and it's not free to get them done.

I'm sure it was just an oversight. I'm also sure that if you call them, they'll mail you one. If for some reason they've run out of them or stopped doing it for some reason, let me know. I've got at least a dozen of them, and I'd be happy to send one to you. I don't use them, as I think they look a bit cheesy and would never apply one. What you want is one of their embossed metal logos. Those they don't give away (they're normally $3.50), but if you have to call and ask, I'd bet dollars to donut holes they'd send one of those. They come in chrome, smoked chrome (matches black hardware nicely), or gold. The small letters that say "Made in USA" usually won't transfer, but that's not the end of the world. The "Warmoth" part looks good. For example...

The sticker is too thick to bed into a finish. You need a decal, and I'm not sure they've ever offered that. It's really only good for sticking on your lunchbox or makeup mirror or something. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use it, which may be why they've stopped including them. It's .0002 cents down the pisser.

(snipped to save space)

Yeah, man, on my white Strat the "E" on the "Made In USA" tilted when I put it on. Lucky for me that quirky crap like that is fun for me, so I left it like it was.....I did try to straighten it out at first but soon came to realize that trying to turn it was only going to ruin it.

Not only did the E slip.

:dontknow:  the whole lot is upside down  :laughing7:

  stupid me .....
it's so you can read it when your playing  :icon_biggrin: ..... stuff anyone else reading it  :toothy10:

On my first Warmoth neck, I had it finished with glossy vintage tint, so after a bit of wrestling with an Exacto knife I managed to get it all on. Looks good. But, every one since has refused to cooperate even when I drank enough beer and cussed at it. I think it may be because all the necks since that first one have been raw wood and I don't think it presents a good enough surface for the glue to get a grip on. I still try, but always end up leaving the "Made in USA" part off. I'm usually not exporting the things, so it's no biggie. I know where it was made.

Yeah, man, like I said, I like quirky stuff like that. I enjoy having the logo on upside down, or the electrical tape over the volume pot hole, and a volume pot with a Tone knob on it. Makes it fun. :toothy10:

I used the "chintzy", "cheap" vinyl on my strat neck and think it looks just fine, and the chrome on my VIP (and I can't fathom how anyone gets the Made in USA off properly)

Another cool thing to do, stack a few metal decals on top of each other, then finish over them.

Crome
Smoked Chrome
Crome.

It adds some depth to the appearance.  Applying a bit thicker finish to the peg-face to get a level finish over the surface of the decal isn't going to hurt anything either.

Are you in the US? I've never used the Warmoth stickers I have. If I can find them I'll throw them in an envelope and send them your way. PM me if you'd like!

The sticker is normally in the packet that is rubber banded to the neck.  If you checked the packet and didn't get one, email sales@warmoth.com.

Anyone have a Magnetic Warmoth bumper sticker?
I too still have one of my Warmoth stickers (which I like but just never bothered to use it) and would be willing to trade for a magnetic Warmoth one  :icon_thumright:

I'm not sure even the Warmoth guys get magnetic bumper stickers.

But, if you're determined to defile your car, perhaps you'd like something along the lines of...

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, and a son to boot! <grin>

Thought about making one! Get a magnetic sheet, lay a Warmoth bumper sticker over it...
