I got a free little vinyl sticker with both of my neck purchases. I didn't use them. Maybe they just accidentally forgot to drop one in your box, or maybe they don't do it anymore. In my time on this forum (and I was a member of the original forum as well) I've seen maybe 4 or 5 completed guitars with the vinyl decal. If no one is really using them, it's silly to keep shipping them out for them to just be thrown away. I always thought they looked kind of cheap. If I just dropped a grand or more on custom parts I don't want to put a chintzy little sticker on the headstock.
I did buy a couple of the metal decals though. I think they are classy.
Also, Warmoth isn't exactly hurting for business. They ARE in the business of making Fender replacement parts. Lots of people buy necks and slap 'em on Fender guitars and put a Fender decal on them. I'm quite certain that they aren't going to go broke because you are mad you didn't get a silly 2 dollar sticker. Allparts certainly isn't going to give you a sticker for free and USACG doesn't even have a decal. They will, however, CNC their logo into the face of the peghead and fill it flush with epoxy, but it will cost you an extra Hamilton. 2 bucks for a turtle logo seems a bit more reasonable now, doesn't it? Or you could upgrade to one of the metal one for just a couple bucks more. Or you could create a totally custom logo on waterslide paper yourself. That's what lots of folks around here have done. It that one more little thing that will make your new guitar truly unique and your own.
Nothing against Warmoth, but I really don't want this:
on my new custom guitar.
