Just received my first build today and have a few questions

First build ever for me and I'm pumped. What steps do you recommend I take from beginning to end.

Step 1: Don't get in a hurry. It's a sure way to screw things up.
Step 2: If you're not sure anout how do do something, ask questions here.
Step 3: Watch lots of guitar building videos on the Internet.
Step 4: Double check, triple check, and then check again before drilling any holes. Make sure the location is correct, the size is correct, and the depth is correct.

Not sure what more I can add without knowing your skill or experience level.

Read the Welcome to the forum link in my signature and check out a number of the build threads and various other threads that are linked there.

Start with a detailed idea of what you want to build, check specs, go for parts that are known to work together.

If in doubt, ask a question.

Not all information on videos or elsewhere on the internet is reliable for correctness so you have to sort the wheat from the chaff.

1) Put pictures of what you make in the build section.
2) Find the Aaron's double neck warmoth build on youtube.
3) Get yourself a book like Dan Erlewine's Guitar Player Handbook. You can find them cheap used on the internet.
4) Enjoy the assembly process and have pride in what you made.

@MetalThrasher I documented my build ”thought process” here . As it is my first build (, too) and I haven’t yet received what I have ordered, please don’t read or trust it like a bible But maybe you get some ideas from the thread. Happy building!
BTW, are you a big Aleksi Laiho fan?
