Prepare to be wowed by how comfortable those guys are to play.  COngratulations.  What are your plans for finishing?

Sweet mercy, I acquired arthritis scrolling from one end to the other.  Resize!  Looks amazing!

Sorry!  I hope it looks better now... my forum skills are rusty.

I'm thinking something along these lines... but haven't made up my mind...
definitely a dye with the grain popped with some filler and more of a satin finish.
I might do more of a gray with an ebony fill instead of red... but i do have a tone of red dye leftover from another project.  :laughing7:

I was just messin.  Not a huge fan of that particular look, but I've seen it done well!

I do like that look, but I am not entirely sanguine about how easily you can achieve it with the body already bound.  As I understand it, the approach is to sandblast (or blast with other media besides sand) and then apply your color coats (black, sand back, then color).  Where my concern arises is that your binding may not hold up against the sandblaster, and then you're stuck with that problem on top of the finishing itself.  As always, I'd recommend trying your finishing plans out on a piece of scrap of the same species - and in this case, with some binding applied.

ya... the more i look at it the less inclined i am to do the deep grains like that... more than likely it will be like the middle picture.
something like this, though not necessarily the color.  i just really want to enhance the grain pattern with an ebony fill.

With all of the grain definition in the wings, it will almost have a neck-thru look to it.  Could be really cool when you are done - but the sample pics have more open grain throughout instead of the tight grain you have.

I actually like your tele better.
