do you need the angling in the neck pocket of a jazzmaster body if you are going to use the warmoth modified mustang bridge?

i thought it was necessary only for tuneomatics.

but somebody who made a custom jazzmaster with the modified mustang bridge says that angling in the neck pocket is necessary.

what gives?

I don't know the answer - but looking at this:
http://www.warmoth.com/guitar/bodies/vintage.cfm?fuseaction=bridgeinfo#mustang

my guess is this type of bridge is very similar to a TOM bridge - as in it sits higher above the body. So my guess is this is why you need an angled neck pocket.

But either way why the concern? If you order from Warmoth they'll make sure you get the correct set up for what you order (it doesn't hurt to ask them, just to make sure). It my experience there's little to no difference in playing an angled neck or not angled.

well warmoth says that angling is not needed. and they've already shipped my stuff. so i guess the moment of truth will be when i take it to the tech!

if it indeed needs an angling it would be a pity - for all the money warmoth charges for its products.
