Hello,

I want to wire my flame maple jazz up with a series parallel switch, but i would like to wire it up with Vol/Blend/Tone controls instead of the standard Vol/Vol/Tone. I can find wiring diagrams for either one but not both together.

I assume that this would be possible, but does anyone have a diagram on how this could be done?

The bass in question if you fancy a look;

Thanks.

There are three ways you can do it. The first would be with standard series/parallel switching. This will result in the blend pot behaving like a volume pot, in series mode. For this reason, the other two options would be preferable. The second option is to use the third pole of a 3PDT switch to bypass the blend pot, in series mode. This works well, but eliminates the possibility of using a push/pull pot, if that was of interest to you. The third way would be to use an ungrounded M/N taper blend, with a DPDT-based switching scheme that shunts the inputs of the blend pot together, in series mode. Ungrounded M/N blends are becoming very popular due to their taper and decreased load on the signal. The switching scheme works because an ungrounded M/N blend always has at least one input running directly to the output, and cannot decrease output impedance as either pickup is favored.
