first off, this might be the longest post i've ever seen on these forums :icon_biggrin: and secondly, that is really cool! i thought warmoth didn't do 3 pickup basses ??? was this all warmoth's routing, or elsewhere? and what the bridge pickup going to be? it almost looks like a regular humbucker route, which makes me think that rickenbacker-style pickup from SD.

it's all Warmoth. I paid extra for custom routing, but it was what I wanted done. this was a completely custom, no compromise bass for me, so I paid the price necessary. I'm an all or nothing kind of guy, so I figured since I was getting a custom bass, it was gonna be what I wanted! hah. the bridge pickup is a Dimarzio X2N-7. a seven string guitar humbucker. as I understand it, this is the first production Jaguar body Warmoth has made and sold to the public. I kinda wish I had them put the humbucker a little bit further back, but it should be fine as is.

Incredible piece of Canary!

Aren't you glad I bugged the crap out of you to go with a raw neck?
I told you it was awesome!

BTW, I found it interesting that the P bass pickup's cavity was already drilled for mounting holes.  :icon_scratch:

That's one beautiful neck.  And I never thought I would admit this, but I'm kinda liking the body too.  Congrats and definitely start a build thread!

I love that body wood.  I love that color.  I love that bridge route.  It's nice to be a Warmoth 1st also.  How did you get them accomodate so many requests?  Tubby Twins can't even get 3 pickups routed in a bass from W.  I can't get an LP toggle on an LP Bass.  You get 3 pickups and the 1st new production body.

wow man, that's gorgeous!  Everything about both pieces, from shape to color to wood choice, etc, is super classy.  i think that's going to be one of my favorite warmoth builds once it's done  :headbang1:

Wow! Thank you very much STCD/Jalane! As far as how this came to life, Eric Wylie gets all the credit. He was a freaking saint through the whole ordering process! I agonized over every single choice, and changed my mind pretty much daily on pretty much every option. I finally got things whittled down to what I was satisfied with, and Eric changed the order more times than socially acceptable. And while he did all this, he was EXTREMELY polite and well mannered. It's some of the best customer service I've ever received in anything I've ever bought! To sum it up, this bass would not exist without Eric Wylie. HUGE thanks and appreciation go out to him!

Also, STCD, it was actually your bass that inspired me to go the Sunset Orange route. I figured I'd leave the matte finish to you, though. It really sets this bass off! Hopefully it will be completed and setup by the end of this week. I need to buy a hardcase...

I also want to add that this is the second bass I've ever owned and the first high quality instrument I've ever owned. My first bass was an Ibanez GSR190 from a bass starter pack when I was 13. It's also the first "big" purchase I've ever bought brand new.

Way to do it up right.  I didn't say before, but the neck kicks ass on its own merit as well.  Thanks for the props with color selection, but I saw it somewhere too when it sold me, so I'll just pass it on along.

That's just incredible - what a gorgeous instrument, and it's not even assembled yet!  :icon_thumright:

Was the rout for that bridge pickup custom?  I see that's a rail pickup, so you should be able to get even response across the 4 strings no prob (great idea, btw), but is that pickup the same width as a regular bass HB?  Or did they just do a 7 string guitar rout on the bass body?

I think it's just about the same as a bass HB, but it has the extra tabs on the side. So, it was technically a "custom route", but I think it was just a seven string pickup route on a bass body. And thanks to the both of you. I literally can't express how much I can't wait to get this put together and plugged in!

You've got to be one happy camper! Those are some beautiful parts! That's going to turn into one hellava bass. You'll keep that forever. Gotta get a Dangerous neckplate with the build date on it.
