Hey Gregg, is the carved top tele out of a regular body blank going to be a standard option? Cause that would be perfect, as I could keep costs down, and like the idea of a 1 piece body much more and have never been a fan of laminate tops.

Totally Custom, a one of a kind unique instrument, better quality, lower cost
vs.
brand name, mass produced, lower quality, higher cost.

To me it's an easy choice, but some people are to narrow minded to understand.

Excellent Idea.  It mirrors the set neck tele I've played.  Though the routes should be for humbuckers.  There definitely will be demand for this, one all alder and the alder with a maple cap.  Kudos.
