Please meet Mr. Cray.  Nothing really special about the body.  I am just a big fan of Robert Cray and purple axes.  :hello2:

The body is a Fender Artist Series Robert Cray MIM that I picked up on Ebay for a good price.

Found a Robert Cray loaded pickguard on Craig's list.  In an interview that I read with Robert Cray, he states that the R.C. MIM pups are built much hotter than the Custom Shop pups.
He wanted two versions and toned down the Custom Shop pups.

The neck is all Warmoth!  :icon_thumright:
Strat Pro Canary w/ Malagasy fingerboard [Unique Choice]
SRV back w/ compound radius
SS6115 stainless jumbo frets
Schaller chrome locking tuners

I now know what all the holler is about regarding Canary necks.  Mr. Cray has the feel of butta' and ain't all that bad lookin'.  Gotta love those naked exotics!!!

Oh yea, much thanks to Doug for the cool neck plate.  If your axe is not wearin' neck ware by Dangerous; it ain't spit!  [pic to follow]

that is the most red malagasy I have ever seen!!

Yea, that what I was looking for!  This is kind of a funky shade of purple; fender calls it violet.  However, it often looks more blue unless in good lighting.
Since red is one of the primary colors that make the secondary color purple, I thought it might bring out more of the purple.

Pretty sweet Bart, I told you canary is pretty damn sweet.....And thanks for the props...... :icon_thumright:

I feel Warmoth did me right with this one!  If you notice, the streaks of red on the headstock are the exact same color as the fretboard.
It's like the craftsman specially selected this piece of Canary just for me...  Anyway, I'm stickin' with that vision.
Thanks! :rock-on:

The body is nothing special?  Seeing the backside of a Strat with string ferrules turns me on!  I love a good hardtail.

Yea!
This is my first hardtail...  I have heard nice things about them and can not wait to try him out.  I am actually getting ready to string him up for the first time as we speak [type].
I am sure it will all be good... :headbang:

If somebody had told me about this combination of woods and colors I would have thought "no way". But seeing it, I have to give a big thumbs up!!!  :icon_thumright:
