Aside from covering up the nice flame. My other concern has been that "uneveness" showing through. The design could also be dyed into the maple, and that thought has popped in my head. But I know what were going for here. And try as I might I know I can't dye the metal flake. I would have preferred to be painting on some plain alder top. The flamed maple is going to take more prep to make sure it's a flat surface. I think it's going to be a stellar Tele in the end.

Next time around I'm definitely going to try to get a more basic piece of wood. Still very excited to see the results though! FYI - UPS updated and said it should be to you Friday sometime!
