If you love Les Paul Guitars

on a positive note at liest he isnt hoarding cats or dogs. I know some folks who hoard cats...house full of probably 100 cats/kittens.

Every guitar I own is different from the other. I find it odd when guys have three or four strats with the same config but different finish...just need one..

+1

I never got that either. I can understand having a few spares if you're touring and whatnot, but otherwise I don't get having 10 of the same identical thing in maybe different colors/finishes. I like 'em to be a bit different from each other.

But I guess I'm not really that much of a collector, but more of a player,...

Which isn't to say I wouldn't be willing to take care of a few of his "cats" if he's looking for a good home for them.

Both of those threads are really disgusting. That is so so much money to blow on far more guitars than any one person can truly enjoy. That is just hoarding. I can't even fathom that kind of excess.

couldn't agree more.

I agree also. Those are beautiful guitars and it seems terrible that they're being hoarded instead of played. I'm not even sure why it seems wrong seeing as though it's his money and all--and he does share pictures--but it does.

Holy Crap, 190 guitars, and all of them fairly high-end... that is disgusting....

It's all relative.  Some find it absurd if you own more than one guitar, period.  If anybody has that kind of money of spend and you compared it to their income or assets, it might be the equivalent of you or I buying a Squire.  Besides, when did it become anybody's business to choose how someone else spends their own money?  Rather than be concerned how someone spends their own money, I'm more concerned how someone spends mine (borderline political - but please no hijack).

I 'd love to have a collection like that.  I don't think there's anything disgusting about it.  The guy has the income to do it so I say more power to it.  I'm not sure if I owned some of those that I'd ever even consider playing them so I don't really see the issue with him having several.

i think if he's got the income he should be allowed to collect. it would be much more of a shame if he put them all in closets to sell a week before he hit his death bed. seems like if there's somebody to collect gross amounts of guitars then this should be the guy, he's written up tons about them and taken some great photos!

can you imagine if he sold them all at once, too?! this collection being sold all at once could cause the price of a vintage gibson to drop  :icon_biggrin:  so many classy guitars...
