I will not do another stainless steel fret on bound neck again

Back to my second acoustic guitar, I now understand why Warmoth won't install stainless steel frets on bound neck. While SS frets are hard to install and trim on an unbound neck on a bound neck things just got harder. There are no easy way to remove the tang for the binding other than grinding it off (use of any plier will result in destroyed tools) and if you have no precision you will overgrind and now the fret will not seat correctly. I think it's so much easier to just cut the binding with a fret saw (this is wood binding) and treat it like an unbound neck.

Me too :laughing7:
But good to know your trouble with it!

No matter how hard it is, I expect from W to make this service availiable for their customers someday soon.
