I still cant believe I got this off the showcase for $197 thats like the lowest price they go.
I had specifically wanted a reddish straight grained rosewood fretboard and fatter neck profile, I was thinking SRV and Roasted Flame Maple, but when I stumbled on this sweet looking Roasted Maple/ Rosewood Boatneck in the showcase I had to do a double take....and of course pull the trigger.

I am so glad I did, the Boatneck profile is so much more comfortable to me than I expected and more so than a Fatback I had ordered previously,...though I liked that neck plenty too...lol  .....compared to the Fatback, this Boatneck is like a soft "V" shape that fills the palm but still allows easy access over the top with the thumb and under the bottom with the fingers, as a matter of fact I had to measure the thickness to double check that it was a Boatneck; because I thought maybe it was labeled wrong and I got a Clapton thinner profile unexpected (not that I would complain) thats how comfortable it is, I am very happy with this new found knowledge and looking forward to playing on this beautiful neck.

The slimmer 6105 stainless steel frets feel like the perfect size to compliment the thicker back profile for easy movement up and down the neck, and they are perfectly installed per Warmoth's usual high standards, the Graphtech Black Tusq XL Earvana nut is low profile and smooth in all the right places, I cant imagine getting a better neck than this for that price anywhere, incredible, to be honest I dont think I would have gotten a better neck through special order.
Oh, and its Vintage Modern, my favorite for that old school charm.
I am very happy.

Congratulations it looks like a really good neck. There are some treasures to be found in the showcase.

Congrats on a great pickup! That is a really nice piece of rosewood on that fret board.  :icon_thumright:

I agree. It's tough to get too excited about Rosewood fretboards since they're common as dirt. I mean, even Walmart guitars have Rosewood 'boards. But, every once in a while you see a piece like that and it restores your faith in mother nature.
