My mahogany is pretty boring compared to yours:

The tops look like they came from the same tree:

What kind of neck are you going with? And what pickups?

Haha yeah i was looking at your thread the other day. I was so stoked with the mahogany, although i still don't mind the plain grain on yours!

Ok so i ordered my neck a few weeks ago. Heres the details:

Fingerboard Wood: Jet Black Ebony

And the pickups are Dimarzio's - D - Activator (Bridge), Cruiser Bridge (Middle) and Chopper (Neck).

I have run into a problem though. The Push Push Pot 500k shaft isn't long enough (From W). Has anyone had that problem?

When I first saw your mahogany body I thought it was canary! Outstanding, congrats. Zebrawood with a satin finish, my favorite.

That is one of the sweetest  :glasses9: pieces of mahogany that I have seen.  Killer body...
I agree that a Canary neck would be nice on that girl.
Keep the pics a comin' &  :rock-on:

Those are a couple of nice bodies. My next build will be a Soloist as well, but I was considering a quilt maple top. I may have to reconsider given how cool these look.

Also good to see canary and ebony as your neck wood choices. I was thinking along the same lines, but with an Explorer headstock to match the curves of the body. I just don't think that the angles of the Jackson headstock look as nice with the smooth curves of the Soloist body.

I had a similar problem with the shaft length of my volume and tone pots with my Strat build. I wound up routing a small indent into the control cavity to make them fit. About 1/8" was enough for mine to work fine.

Cheers on your builds. Can't wait to see the finish products.

That is an incredible piece of work. I don't think I've ever seen Mahogany like that before, and that Zebrawood is so perfect it almost looks fake. Anything other than a clear finish on there is going to be a crime.

I hope I'm not gonna get arrested for what I plan to do...  :evil4:

You're not going to put purple metal flake on it, are you? <grin>

No, nothing crazy like that. Just solid black. Black guitars are so cool. Plus it'll cover all those silly lines on the front.  :icon_jokercolor:

Haha Thanks guys. Every time i look at it, it just keeps getting better. Yeah I have never played a raw neck before so i cant wait to try out the canary! Heres some pics with some hardware on.

Black is good. However, you should know that covering that body will cost you your immortal soul.
