HOW OFTEN DOES WARMOTH ADD NEW...

I'm wondering how often I should check the "Browse and Buy" section for new additions?  I don't review ever guitar body or neck on display but usually look through some of the better strat bodies and haven't seen new additions in a very long time.  Is there a usual/predictable time period wherein Warmoth adds some guitar bodies to this section?  Like I mentioned I'm mostly a strat guy.....and really prefer rear route and hardtail....although if it's a great piece of work I'll take just about any strat configuration.

The same goes for the Custom Body Builder section:  How often does Warmoth usually add to the Unique Choice of Laminate Tops option(s)?    Seems like the best wood pieces go fairly quick and then the remainder stay for quite some time before Warmoth adds the higher end wood selections there.

Thanks for sharing any experience!

I used to be signed up for the RSS feed......but it must have stopped a while back and I can't find where to renew this feature.  Where do they list this option and where can i sign up again?

Hehe - it's also in the lower part of the menu on left side on all the showcase pages:

Warmoth adds new stuff almost every single day....sometimes a lot!

That's been my experience. Back when the RSS feed worked for me, I was truly surprised at the volume of parts that showed up every day.

Ya when I am excited about putting a guitar together I start checking every monday through friday. Just in the Strats alone I see 3, 5 sometimes even 9 new bodies!

I'm definitely missing this amount/rate......but great to know.
I am not sure y I'm off the RSS feeds now and can't find them on my screen anymore.....but I will keep checking.

I have an extra neck still and looking for a great strat body off the shelf so I don't have to wait to long to build my next guitar.  Thanks for the info...

Something that's weird about Warmoth and its customers is that sometimes, a really nice body will just sit unsold for months. It's not overpriced, looks really good, but for whatever reason, it doesn't sell for no other reason than I don't have the money to buy it. And then, other times, a body that has just spent hours on the RSS feed is gone, sold to someone who probably looks at the feed multiple times a day.

The other day, there were a 3-4 one-piece diamondback bodies that came up like that and all were sold quickly. I've been wondering who bought them all?  Is someone building a business around these?

I've noticed that, too. But, there's no accounting for taste. My idea of a perfect body could be somebody else's example of how not to do things.

As for building a business around Warmoth parts - it seems unlikely. They're already charging retail prices for their goods, and there's no discount for anybody. They don't have OEM accounts or frequent flyer miles so it would be tough to make any real money. I do necks/builds/setups, but it generally only works out to minimum wage or less. You have to have a good-sized CNC machine to turn out necks and bodies and a good paint shop to really get ahead, and I suspect even then it's more a labor of love.

I dunno who sniped all the Diamondbacks, but I'm certainly guilty of the RSS-poach myself.  Checking the feed a couple times a day is one of my mental-health tactics at a very stressful job, so I am usually aware when something interesting comes up.  The body for Bête Noire was one that showed up on the RSS feed one fine morning and I snagged it immediately. It really pays to stay on top of it, if you have a plan and the shekels to build something.  In the case of my GOTY winner, I saved $135 bucks over the custom-order price.

I watch the RSS too much without any real agenda. I just get inspired and buys are decided on a fraction of a second. It's no big deal when money is not a matter.  :icon_jokercolor:

If you go into The Showcase, just underneath the filter section on the left side of the screen you have your choice of signing up for 4 different feeds. Doesn't work for me, but I've probably got some security setting too tight and I don't know what it would be. But, if you're running a wide-open malware magnet like Windows, it'll probably work just fine. Not that RSS feeds are malware, and Warmoth is certainly trustworthy, but some filters/firewalls/anti-everything software/ipfilters/host files can be pretty aggressive.
