How many play guitar?

I’d say pick up bass anyways, it will help you break out of ruts on your guitar.
100%
James Jameson- you will learn about creating a groove
Top of my list. :)
Paul McCartney- you will learn about melodic passings between the chords others are in
2nd on my list! :ROFLMAO:
Sting- you will learn how to use syncopation in the context of a song.
Interesting recommendation. I hadn't thought of him, but I get what you're saying. Will definitely keep it in mind.
Oh and plan on a minimum of 2 basses.
I'll need you to talk to my wife! She's a bit of a minimalists and can't understand all my *needs*.

Not gonna lie, when I saw the title of this thread, I thought it might be a bot. But I saw @teleme01 was the originator of the thread, and knew it would not be a wasted effort to take a look.

In any event, I am on the side of the folks who want a lot more context and reliable sourcing for figures I see on the Al Gore's internet. I also get the idea that there are innumerable guitar owners of varying skill levels, talents, and dispositions, and that's wonderful, to me. I just watched a cool documentary on the concept of infinity on Netflix last night. Highly recommended if available in your area. You get to hear lots of alpha nerds' mathematicians' and scientists' and philosophers' meditations on what infinity IS and what it MEANS. Anyway: having primed my brain last night with this film, I immediately made the connection about the practically limitless possibilities for what guitar playing can be (or any musical undertaking, for that matter). Breathtaking, when you look at it this way.

Separately, @TBurst Std , I am stocked up and ready to build a bass at long last. I am grateful for your insights and recommendations in this thread.

And for the inquiring minds, there’s a positive infinity and a negative infinity.
