FACTORY BUILT:
1983 Fender Stratocaster - MIJ when the factory in USA was closed down. First re-issue - 50s? Put heavy strings on it and you can get close to SRV tone. Frets nearly gone on maple/maple neck.
1970s something Hondo Les Paul flat top copy. "Trashy". Loaded with DiMarzio Super 2 in bridge (first series) and a genuine Bill Lawrence L500 in neck. Badass bridge, Grovers. Known to make Marshalls weep! Action about 1/4" off the fretboard, if you ain't man enough to handle that - don't plug it in, lol. 'Custom" paint job, torching and delamination done by myself and a friend. Punked up but sounds like someone left the door open in hell & let this screaming banshee out. Heaps of mojo and no idea how it came to sound so good. :evil4:
1990s Epiphone Casino. P90s, natural finish, pickguard taken off, of course. Am I a John Lennon fan? Made in Korea, not bad but not good. G-string struggles to behave itself, P90s found wanting sometimes...
1970s Ovation acoustic. Spruce top, wood bridge and that's all the wood there is on this! Plastic sytrofoam type neck witha hardened exterior, aluminium fretboard with built in Petillo frets, back of body is rounded Ovation shape in plastic.Sounds surprisingly piano-ish/mandolin-ish.
1980s Fender MIJ P-Bass. Loaded with Bartolini pickup. Sounds good.
CUSTOM BUILT:
2010 Maton Custom Shop acoustic. Serious acoustic instrument, lots of love and forethought put into it's design and construction. Top of the range for Maton, Highly figured Victorian Blackwood sides and back, AAA Sitka Spruce top, Ebony fretboard, top line Mahogany neck, special M-O-P inlays and rosette. You have to appreciate the pain I felt while this was being built, to understand the gratitude I owe to Maton and their luthier Andy Allen for getting it SOOOOOOOO right. :glasses9:

WARMOTHS:
1998 Telecaster/ Esquire. Butterscotch Blonde Ash body (possibly hard ash as it weighs a ton) Fender L-series pickup in bridge. Gold hardware. Maple neck Ebony fretboard, 24.75" conversion neck. Earvana nut. This is #1. About to get a refit and upgraded to a Telecaster with a Guild 1970s humbucker (PAF sounding) & 500/250K concentric pots. :blob7:
2002 Jazzmonster. Maple body Maple neck with Ebony fretboard, 24.75" conversion scale neck. Dangerous R6 custom neck plate! Tried to install an EMG system into it but wouldn't fit, and the EMG 89s sounded too sterile with all that bright, dense wood around it by themselves. Will be getting refitted with 2x Kent Armstrong Mini Hums (Firebirds), 300K main volume knobs and a tone circuit for the upper bout pots....Have Bill Lawrence Q Filters on order and it is hoped I can make a bass tone EQ control with the 50K linear and a Treble tone EQ control with the 1M Linear pot using the Q filters and a cap and resistor. I do have a Plan B tho. We'll see how this all turns out as there have been many times over the years I have painted myself into a corner with this project.....This project has nearly sent me mad at times.
2011 Telecaster "Uber Tele" This will take the EMGs and will be quite a classy looiking guitar when finished :icon_thumright:.......
#1 Tele and Jazzmonster refits take priority... I really have to tidy up so many loose ends and get all this gear working properly. No time for no-no footin' and if I can;t get the Jazzmonster working properly this time it is headed for the scrapheap.Music needs to be made!
