home studio drums

A while back I got so frustrated trying to program drums I was ready to hit things. That ended up being its own rabbit trail. Finally selling my big kit, but I still want a compact drum kit for a guitar players home studio. Not a fan of electronic drums, but practically enters the equation.

So here's my current attempt. Real snare and cymbals plus electronic bass and toms (and precision and doodads). But much more compact than even a traditional ekit.

Low volume cymbals for practice, (and a practice pad for that). Once the toy fund recovers I'll probably add a 3 zone pad for snare. But right now I'll use either one of the multipad pads or the practice pad. In about 30 seconds it converts over to real snare and cymbals.

And a 25 key keyboard gives me keys at the kit as well as to transport controls.

I gotta say. This setup is da bomb for practice. Set your electronics low, play snare to match. You'll learn to make it work at low volume pretty fast
