HNGD: strat content!

it's a superlightweight alder body with a standard thin no-flame maple neck and board. kahler USA trem (older one), invader bridge, distortionbridge in middle, jb in neck. schaller tuners and toplock. the guitar is just 3,5 kilo's!!!! I added the aluminium pickguard and extra blendpot for the middle pickup.

I cleared that ugly logo off the headstock. i have to sand it even ferther but not now. I wanna PLAY!

I really like the tone and playability. the guitar plays SUPEReasy and sounds great. the trem keeps its tune nicely. not superOK like a floyd, but it's doable. and thank god sustain isn't compromised.

I'd love a floyd but this works just fine for now.

the blend pot... getting rid of that and having a hole?! no thanks I like to blend in the middle pickup. It's not really a BLEND perse. it's just a volumepot for the middle, between the pickup and the switch. works REALLY well on strats!

Alright, a volume pot isn't so bad.
Passive blend pots give you variable impedance loading on the pickups, extra resistive loading on the output, and tend to have issues blending evenly, especially where there are dissimilar pickup impedances, and insertion loss. (Though I hear good things about leaving the grounds off, so that you only place a resistance in series with each pickup.) Not worth the trouble. :doh:

Hey, I've never had a problem with a properly set-up Khaler.  I've enjoyed my Khaler time quite a bit actually.

I will acknowledge the FR is a better product, but still... I'd have no qualms about having a Khaler on a guitar for myself...  :dontknow:

uh-oh.... isn't this the same guy who's EX-girl"friend's" PARENTS promised to make his life miserable? it's called PSY-OPs.... next week he shows up with a Telecaster, the week after that it's a Gretch with a horseshoe stamped on it, then the accordion, then the nose flute the slide whistle then the long robe join the Krishnas shave head give away all the Les Pauls eat mulch n'live in the bushes - all so SHE gets "her" apartment back! I think we need to take his guitars into custody before it gets any worse, fer sure. Especially if he's one of those guys who have a really weird, bumpy head when it's shaved - I hate that.
