Hey Gregg - Showcase Neck question...

I could pull the trigger on a VIP build, but on this otherwise perfect neck:

http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_necks.cfm?type=guitar&itemNumber=WN528&menuItem=9&subMenuItem=0&subMenuItem2=0

has a FatBack contour... Can you run a showcase neck back through the CNC and mill the excess wood off the back contour?

We cannot. Removing wood from the back would severely change the structural nature of the neck and cause it to warp and twist.

Gregg, I had a question about the showcase necks too. If I found a neck I liked could it be cut for a Floyd Rose nut? I only see one neck in there and it's cut for an R3.

As long as it is a Warmoth Pro and doesn't have a finish - no prob!

Is there the standard $45 for the Floyd prep added onto the price of the neck? Also if the fretting is included that does mean I have to pay extra for the stainless steel right? BTW this is the neck I'm talking about:

http://warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_necks.cfm?itemNumber=VMS1511&type=guitar

That is not a Warmoth Pro so it cannot have a locking nut prep. (Nice neck though!)

Yes, stainless frets cost the $20 extra.

So by Warmoth Pro that means no conversion necks or just strat necks? I'm just a little confused. :tard:

This was the other neck I was looking at:

http://warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_necks.cfm?type=guitar&start=1&menuItem=10&itemNumber=MN828&subMenuItem=0&subMenuItem2=0

If I could get a locking nut prep on that neck it would definately be the one I am ordering now that the other is out of the question.

My mid year bonus is burning a hole in my pocket and I've pretty much settled on VIPP73 as the body for my VIP build; it needs gold trim and a dark naked neck....

1.) Y'all have wenge in stock to do a wenge/jet black ebony neck?
2.) A chunk of Indian Rosewood to do a one piece neck?
3.) What's current estimated lead time for an ordered Warmoth headstock neck w/o finish?

Your just looking for something with a double expanding truss rod design as one way to distinguish Warmoth Pro style construction.  And yes, that neck would be one we could do for you!

Yes to 1 & 2.
5-8 weeks for exotic neck builds right now for question 3. (Both great choices BTW!)

5-8 weeks I can fade, now I just have to make up my mind; leaning towards the wenge/ebony as I haven't done a wenge neck yet....

Cool. Thanks Gregg. Looks like I'll be making an order tomorrow after all. :glasses10:
