And, in those boxes...
A Wenge / Macassar Ebony neck,

and flat top LP in Mary Kaye, routed for some TV Jones P90s!

Isn't that fretboard something! 

I'm building this one for a close friend, to his specifications. I think he's going to really be happy with it.

I personally have never been a big fan of a Mary Kaye finish. It always looks half-way done to me. :sad1:
But, that is what my friend wanted... so, I figured that this fret board would help it out a bit. :laughing7:

Bagman67 - I went with TV Jones P90s at my friends request. I've never used either them or the Roadhouse. Do you know how they compare?

I got it. Bigfoot. A female Bigfoot, with hair only where it's proper, and tits the size of pumpkins. Yeah. That makes sense. She'd have opposable thumbs, and would want those parts for herself. You'd have stopped her, but you were mesmerized and couldn't move. Yeah. That'll fly. Then call UPS and claim the packages were stolen off your porch so the insurance company can eat it. Damned irresponsible drivers.

Lemme know how that works out. I'll expect a set of Schaller mini-lockers to insure my silence.

The Mary Kay doesn't do anything for me, but that neck is sweet enough to make me not notice it. (unless gold hardware is going on this thing)

I have no experience with the TV Jones pups, but they seem to be highly regarded in some circles.  If it's a reasonably well-made p90 it oughta make you happy in any case.  I love me some soapbars.

That is something, isn't it? Very attractive. I can see why the Bigfoot wanted it. I think I could find an application for it as well, and I only wear a 9 1/2.

Autobat - No gold on this one! I know gold hardware was standard for the original, but in my opinion Mary Kaye was a lot better looking than the color scheme named after her!

Just lots of delicious Caramel running down the fret board!

Bagman67 - Planning to wire em up this weekend. Will let you know how they sound. The image I have is Big Honkin Single Coils with some added Filtertron growl! Hope they're something close to that anyway! :guitarplayer2:

Managed to pull this thang together over the weekend and I think it turned out pretty well. Really like the TV Jones P90s. I think they would have been happier in a Mahogany body than they are in this Ash, but it sounds pretty awesome as is! Here is 1 pic after completion:

I like it. I shouldn't as I am not a huge fan of the Mary Kay finish. With the blackness of that neck and the hardware it looks pretty good. TV Jones pickups are awesome. I have a set of powertrons in my Epiphone ES-335, and they rock really hard.

I think this thing would rock even more with a set of filtertrons due to the ash, but I think I'd love this guitar in white limba too, (with the p90's)
