Help with mixing finishes?

Okay, so I'm going to be putting a waterslide decal from Rothko & Frost on my clear gloss finished warmoth neck. I know they use polyurethane. My question is, can I use Krylon "ColorMaster Crystal Clear Acrylic Gloss" over it? It seems to be next to impossible to find an aerosol polyurethane clear coat in my area... :-\
Any help is much appreciated.

I would think it would work.  Scuff the head stock with 200 grit and apply the waterside.
Mask everything off and spray.  Should be fine.

The reason I ask, is because I've seen people use poly over acrylic paints, and it melted the paint. I'm assuming this wouldn't be the case with the opposite, because the poly is catalyzed, so the acrylic wouldn't melt it, since the poly is cured. Unless I'm totally misunderstood... Haha.

You can spray nitro over poly. As you say it's catalysed. You would need to use something like 200 or 320 to key the surface a little.

Nitro definitely works over Rothko and Frosts decals, as I've used them.

Some more trivia, some large headstock Fenders you'll see have yellowed on the face of the headstock which I mentioned a little more about in this post. Nitro over urethane in that case though.

Any paint works on top of polyurethane, though the lighter/thinner the paint is, the better.
Any paint works on top of polyester.
Only nitro works on top of nitro.
