Help me Obiwon Kinobee your my only hope!-String spacing blunder?

Hey, I just had a brain blast.  If he replaced his current saddles with mexican strat saddles (or the Callaham equivalent) would that fix the issue?  The Callaham saddles are $40 and the Fender OEM saddles are $15, which is way more better than having to shell out for a whole new bridge IF it will work.

Callaham makes several different bridges. I am referring to the bridge with American mounting screw spacing and import string spacing to fix this exact issue. Putting regular import saddles on a plate setup for American string spacing won't work. The intonation screw holes are spaced for American specs.

I suspect that neck is just not mating up properly in the pocket. The nut width is irrelevant.

Pabloman, I just went back to the Callaham site and saw the new bridge.  I'm sorry I ever doubted you. :icon_thumright:  I must've glossed right over it when looking before.

I didn't think my saddle idea would work, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I just ordered a new Fender American Special trem for 44 bucks. Vintage mount screw spacing and modern 2 1/16 string spacing. I am sure the Callham is great, but 165 is too high for me.

Also, last eve, I did try the thinner saddles from and old Carvin bridge I had lying about and it doesn't work as the string spacing up thru the block doesn't change.

Man, that is B-Zar. I run a bridge a full mm wider with no issues. I wonder what the difference here is..?

Neck is on crooked.

I got epoxy dribbles in the corner of my neck pocket that were barely perceptible, but gave me fits until I figured it out.

I don't have a trem. Hardtail... In fact when I took this pic the saddles were all shoved over a little. I adjusted them since. Even still it's 57mm on a fatback with 1 11/16 nut. Have you measured your overall string spacing at the bridge yet to verify the specs?

I went back to the pic of the three guitars and did a "scientific" analysis. Measuring all three saddle overall widths, the middle guitar is way wider. I know there is some lens distortion at work. Also putting a card on the screen and aligning it with the edge of each neck and comparing.... it does seem like the guitar in question does have the trem offset to the left a bit. Do you have any long straight edges you could verify bridge position?

Although if the bridge were off the pickguard would not fit correctly. The tone pot would keep it from being moved over any appreciable amount.
