I read the list, and thought it strange that intelligence of citizens was not a criteria.  # of colleges, voter participation, political activism, and book sales were the indicators.

For me... (and not to steal the thread), I used to check in on the board from work, or friends... just never had a chance or time to post much.  So I sorta lurked, and dont feel "back" because I feel like I really didn't leave.  But I can see how others would think I was back

I too lurked for quite awhile before jumping back on.
Besides, I follow =CB= around to make sure he doesn't run out of Drambuie.
The ceiling fan burnt smell?  T'was I. Had just stopped by Taco Bell beforehand
and didn't want to run good people off or damage any slightly cured finishes...
