Headstock Logos: Same song 2nd verse

*Personally, I probably wouldn't stick another manufacturer's name on a Warmoth headstock. I'd get a  decal named Warmoth or leave it blank.

* Kinda don't like folks muddying the waters about what is and what isn't :Fender or Gibson or anyone else. But I ain't about to start a Thread about it, or threaten to call the manufacturer, or the FBI for logo patent violation..... I'm sure evryone knows it is naughty, especially if your intent is to sell it as a Fender or wahtever...

* What is and What isn't a Fender neck is very tenuous.......I am sure that if Fender approached Warmoth and said," Some of our machinery is having an overhaul in 3 months time down in Mexico, can you supply us 5000 necks?" that Warmoth would be very happy to provide OEM whereever possible if the price is right. No one would ever find out, much like Warmoth's other OEM work. What is to say that the Fender neck you have on your genuine Strat or Tele isn't a Warmoth or Mighty MIte...it would be pretty hard to tell if the item was sold to Fender OEM or Fender made it themselves.

I'm thinking like this.

It's a Fender licensed replacemenet neck. It's supposed to go on a real Fender. If the neck is good enough to be a Fender neck, why can it not have a Fender label on it? I don't think Fender has special magic machines which makes anything they create 10x better than other companies, and I bet no one would be able to tell the difference between a Warmoth and a Fender neck. After all, Warmoth is making them to Fender's instructions.

Sure, selling it as an "authentic Fender" might be lying a bit, but you could do that with any kind of neck. If you put on a Warmoth you're at least selling a really good neck.

I don't think it's a big issue, people get scammed for worse things than a brand name.

+1

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it... I just like the way the Fender logo looks... I never put one on any of my W necks, but I probably would.
Like others have said before, as long as you're not trying to sell it as a fender I don't see anything wrong with it.
If I were to do it to one of my necks it would be just that, On MY neck, cause "I" wanted it that way and "I" like the way it looks... Nothing more! :toothy12:
