After playing lots of instruments I've concluded that we are just a guitar's custodian until the next person gets it. That idea first came into my head playing a bass worth $250,000 at Gage's String Instruments in NYC. It was made in the early 1600's, before tempered tuning. Sounded wonderful. They'll give you a tour if you ask in advance. Or at least they did 15 years ago. I also got to see them work on one of Bootsy Collins Bass.
So buy it, try it, then sell it.
