Has anyone tried the 1.650 nut width?

Would it not be just as easy to buy a lower price neck from the showcase and try it out. Sell it if you find the profile not to your liking.

After playing lots of instruments I've concluded that we are just a guitar's custodian until the next person gets it.  That idea first came into my head playing a bass worth $250,000 at Gage's String Instruments in NYC.  It was made in the early 1600's, before tempered tuning.  Sounded wonderful.  They'll give you a tour if you ask in advance.  Or at least they did 15 years ago.  I also got to see them work on one of Bootsy Collins Bass. 

So buy it, try it, then sell it.
