I’ve got an order pending and I am rethinking my hardware choice. I did all gold am I’m wondering if that was maybe the wrong choice… all hardware will match including the neck pickup cover. However Chome seems to be underwhelming on this body.

Here’s the body:

Also, for a rear route Tele do you all prefer a bare neck pickup or that mounting ring?

Personally I think gold might be too much bling on that gorgeous body; I would go chrome or black, but obviously it's your guitar and not mine ;)

I tend a tiny little but closer to gold, than to chrome... black... I dunno, I'm pretty sure it'll look good no matter what color hardware.

But no mounting ring in my opinion!

I made samples with Halo Guitars' online designer. Chrome stands out but lets the flame & turquoise breathe on their own without competing for attention like gold might.

Here's another idea completely: Go with Nickel. Less strident than chrome, and would work well with the body colour.
I’m a stickler for all the hardware matching, I like being able to get all Gotoh from Warmoth. What nickel suppliers would you check out?

Chrome worked for me, but over time the blue in the dye I used diminished thus letting the more yellowish of the Alder shine thru, the hue shifted slightly greenward, ... so a more greenish pickguard would probably be better, but otherwise it's a great guitar and still beautiful. No reason to change now. Yeah ... chrome worked fine, though I like the brushed nickel idea. Your finish looks really good, and probably more stable than mine.

Here are two examples I’ve found of Tuquoise dye with various hardware. I kind of like the blend of chrome and black. Maybe a chrome bridge with graphtec saddles and black knobs…

I have hated gold hardware in the past. Still do on most guitars. Somehow, once I started building Warmoths, two of my five have gold hardware.

I think I like gold better on darker fretboard guitars. On this body, I think either would be fine. Gold would be a little over the top and straight pimpin'. Not a bad thing if that's what you're going for. Chrome would be classier, in my opinion ... that's what I voted for.

I have learned through the years that my opinion only matters to me. I would actually love to see this blinged out with gold! Uggh ... I have been through what you are going though many times. Tough choice  .

I'd lean towards chrome, but actually brushed chrome would be better. Same for black...a powder coated black would look great, too.

As to pickup rings, I find them easier to deal with than loading the pups into wood. YMMV. As to the color of the rings, probably chrome or cream, to match / harmonize with the edge treatment. Unless you're going for contrast and pop, then black. And go all black, black bridge, black hardware, black pups, black rings etc.
