Hardtailing a trem routed guitar from the start.

Yeah, I have to stay out of the Showcase as much as I can. I am weak and easily swayed by shiny things...

@Cagey, yes I get that on the showcased use to prices etc.

I think whatever something looked like I personally would rule it out if the bridge routing was that different to what I was looking for. Or I might base the design on what the body is.

There's actually a body in the showcase at the moment that's a Trem rout and if it was hardtail I would be having a hard time not exercising the order button.

I know that one. It's a good thing that there are so few hardtail bodies to choose from.

I wonder if it would solve the indexing / finish chip problems if they only routed the trem cavity to the depth of the spring cavity. I'm still not sure about that excuse - once you get a front routed strat - what's left to index off if you chose 6 hole vs recessed floyd? (Oh.. you could plop it down on a cavity shaped block have have a solid index. There sure ain't nothing on top but the neck pocket to index off.

Anyway - if they did that, it would leave plenty of meat for hardtails.

Indeed, do I need another Trem ?

:dontknow: strokes non existent beard...

If it's a good trem, it shouldn't cause you any grief. In that case, you may want to consider that it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
